Unified Streaming, a leading provider of cross-platform video-streaming technologies, today announced availability of it’s Unified Streaming Platform in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace.
Unified Streaming offers a feature rich and high performance streaming server software to stream media content from one unified source to all popular clients and devices. It consolidates all solutions currently on the market by wrapping platform specific solutions available from Apple (HLS), Adobe (HDS), Microsoft (Smooth Streaming) and MPEG-DASH into one.
Besides online streaming, Unified Streaming also offers full functionality for an offline workflow as well as packaging content using advanced audio options like DTS Express and Dolby Digital Plus or subtitles/captions using TTML, ISMT and WebVTT from the same one input. Content can be protected with PlayReady, Adobe Access, Marlin, AES and Common Encryption (CENC). In particular, different DRM’s can be combined or exchanged: encrypted content can be re-encrypted on-the-fly using another DRM provider.
In addition to Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), Unified Streaming works with Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) and Amazon CloudFront , allowing customers to access stored media directly over HTTP from Amazon S3 and deliver it in all the formats in a scalable and high performance manner. By leveraging AWS CloudFormation templates for provisioning the various AWS components, setting up Unified Streaming for production quality streaming is an easy and straightforward process.
