How it works

In catch-up and nPVR workflows, live streams are transformed into infinite, frame-accurate recordings for future playback. Media is saved to disk in small manageable segments or ‘chunks.’

Unified Origin Live serves as the live source. Unified Capture is used to archive the live stream. Unified Remix ‘mixes’ clips, from one or multiple sources, into a single stream. Then, Origin VOD delivers requested recordings to viewers.

Remix logic starts with playlists created by a customer's CMS, MAM, or other system. The playlist references segments of recorded media and triggers Remix to stitch it together into a new, seamless MP4 video file. This MP4 file is used by Unified Origin to generate a new personalized stream.
