Unified Streaming takes solutions to Tokyo
For three days in mid-November in Japan, the international exhibition titled Inter BEE will host movers and shakers in the audio, video, and communications industry.
Unified Streaming Co-Founder and CEO Dirk Griffioen will attend Inter BEE November 13 – 15 to talk to customers at a stand alongside reps from Unified’s software reseller in Japan, Orca Production.
Both Unified Streaming and Orca Production can be found at stand 7110, Hall 7 at Inter BEE. The event will be held at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba City, just outside Tokyo.
In the runup to the trade show, engineers at Unified Streaming have coordinated with Orca Production Co-Founder and CEO Itaru Kitazawa to produce videos about the latest research and development at Unified Streaming. Kitazawa has translated and subtitled the videos for the Japanese audience.
Included in the playlist is a video featuring an interview with Marcel Poelstra about his company Monboso, and its solution, Media Torrente, which eases the delivery of virtual channels.
Unified Virtual Channel offers streaming companies innovative monetization, personalization, and live-to-VOD seamless transitioning features, among many others.
By embedding Unified Streaming’s solution Unified Virtual Channel within Media Torrente, Poelstra’s company offers users an end-to-end solution: a transcoding workflow; and all the bells and whistles of Unified Virtual Channel.
Also provided as an option for Media Torrente, the turnkey solution from Monboso: a user-friendly MAM (Media Asset Management) system engineered by MediaLab, offering seamless creation of playlists and export to virtual channels.
Even without this option, Media Torrente takes the pressure off the need to build, from scratch, an entire framework atop the Unified Virtual Channel solution.
Besides Poelstra’s virtual channel video, three videos from Unified Streaming (one short, and two that clock in around the 10-minute mark) will show Inter BEE visitors and vendors the work that’s underway at the company.
CEO and Co-Founder Griffioen kicks things off with a welcome, and proceeds with a concise overview of what’s cooking at Unified Streaming.
Research Engineer Roberto Ramos Chávez’s video illustrates the work he’s done to raise quality of experience (QoE) and quality of service (QoS), by refining two video streaming standards: CMSD (common media server data), which helps improve QoS; and CMCD (common media client data), which helps improve QoE.
Standardization Representative Mohamad Raad’s video highlights the streaming specification projects he’s undertaken and helped move forward. Among them, Raad discusses REaP, or Redundant Encoding and Packaging; DASH-IF watermarking; and the progress he’s made with working groups in various streaming standards consortia such as MPEG, DASH-IF, DVB, and CTA-WAVE.
“We at Monboso are very excited about the opportunity Orca Production is giving us to showcase our Media Torrente virtual channel solution at Inter BEE 2024 in Tokyo. We’ve made a special demo video with Japanese subtitles. So be sure not to miss it if you pass by Orca’s booth,” says Marcel Poelstra, founder and CEO of Monboso.
“Cloud agnostic, fully integrated with Medialab’s media asset management system, and providing a full graphical UI to create virtual channels: it’s really impressive to watch Media Torrente develop,” says Dirk Griffioen, CEO of Unified Streaming, “We believe this is a brilliant next step.”
Inter BEE seeks to offer “new user experiences in the media industry in the digital transformation age.”
This year marks the 60th anniversary of Inter BEE.
